An architect or architectural designer will usually deal with architectural and technical drawings, planning and building regulations, while a structural engineer confirms structural changes and a builder prices and carries out the work.
My focus is how the interior will work in everyday life: the layout, flow, room use, storage, sightlines and how different spaces connect. A renovation consultation can be particularly useful while you are still exploring these decisions or want an independent perspective on plans you have already received.

The most useful time is usually while your plans are still flexible, before important layout decisions have been finalised or building quotations requested.
However, you can also book while work is underway if you are stuck on a particular design decision, need to reconsider part of the layout or want an experienced perspective before committing to the next stage.

Yes. I can look at existing proposals from an independent interior-design perspective and help you consider how they will work in everyday life.
We might discuss circulation, furniture placement, storage, kitchen or bathroom positioning, sightlines and how the proposed new space connects with the rest of your home.
The consultation does not replace technical, structural or planning advice, but it can help you identify questions or layout changes to take back to your architect, builder or supplier.

No. You can send photographs, an estate-agent floorplan, existing drawings or a simple sketch before the visit.
You also do not need to have your ideas fully worked out. Conflicting ideas, plans you are unsure about and spaces you cannot quite solve are all useful starting points for the consultation.

The £325 consultation includes advice during the visit and a written summary capturing the main ideas discussed.
It does not include measured surveys, scaled layouts, technical drawings, specifications or 3D visuals. If the ideas need to be developed into drawn layout options or a fuller design package, I can recommend the most appropriate next level of support.

Yes. The renovation consultation is a completely standalone service.
You can take the advice forward yourself, discuss it with your architect or builder, or return for further design support later. There is no expectation that you will commission a larger package afterwards.
You are very welcome to book further consultations as and when needed during your renovation project.
