Kitchen Extension
Forest Hill, London
A bespoke kitchen within a rear and side return extension to a late Victorian terrace in Forest Hill, South East London.
Designed for a couple with a love of travel, craftsmanship and collecting beautiful objects, the brief was to create a kitchen that felt deeply connected to both the garden and the character of the original house, while providing generous storage, space for entertaining and room to display treasured pieces collected over time.
Connecting house and garden
The extension was lowered to garden level to create a stronger relationship with the outdoor space. The curved peninsula was positioned parallel to the bifold doors, allowing views into the garden while cooking and preparing food.
Bespoke joinery and crafted details
Red shaker cabinetry, reeded antique glass, antique brass details and open oak shelving create a kitchen that feels personal, practical and layered, with space for both everyday storage and treasured objects collected over time.
